Felons Free to Go - Lawlessness Continued
On June 19, 2018 Joplin News First had a post on Facebook which Citizens Against Crime shared concerning Jacob R. Davis. The very first line of the post was "$150,000 CASH ONLY BOND SENDS STRONG MESSAGE". My first question is - What strong message? Let's look at some cases that were charged with Armed Criminal Action from 2017 - 1. Jerold Dunn, 17AO-CR00265, Assault X 2 and Armed Criminal Action X 2, four felony charges. On 3-17-17 his bond was $20,000 CASH. He was in jail 78 days and judge released him Pretrial Release Program. August 7, 2017 he failed to appear and showed up for court on 8-21-17 at which time his Pretrial Release Program was reinstated. He failed to appear again on 1-8-18 and 2-20-18 but managed to show up on 3-12-18 and was sentenced. 2. Opee W Duvall, 17AO-CR00635, Burglary, Armed Criminal Action, Assault, all felony charges.
