Career Criminal - Judge Sets Him Free...to Continue Career

Yesterday I was reading a Facebook post from the Joplin Police Department on the infamous Willie J. Spencer.  So let's take a look at him.  Following is a Joplin Globe news article on Mr. Spencer:

I believe one of the cases that this article was referring to is 17AO-CR00551, ST V Willie J Spencer and the charge was Robbery carrying a Felony B.  Here is the history of the case:
5-9-17 the warrant was issued with a bond of $25,000 cash
5-18-17 the judge released Mr. Spencer ON HIS OWN RECOGNIZANCE(Get out of jail free)
6-7-17 Mr. Spencer appeared in court.
7-26-17 Mr. Spencer failed to appear in court.
7-31-17 a "Capias" warrant was issued with a $5,000 cash bond.
7-31-17 that warrant was served.

Now readers please understand that in my reading of case.net and taking notes there are times when I actually have to do housework and keep the grandkids, so I don't always have time to follow cases every day.

On 11-12-17 I went back to case.net specifically on this case and the entire case was gone from case.net.  Which probably means a deal was made on the sentencing if he pled to some other charges, don't really know for sure.

Moving on --17AO-CR00898 - St V Willie J Spencer
7-26-17 Warrant issued $20,000 cash - charges Robbery Felony A,  Armed Criminal Action Felony Unclassified, Delivery of Controlled Substance Felony E.
9-28-17 cased moved to Jasper County Division 2.
10-16-17 Jury trial set for 3-27-18.
10-24-17 case moved to Jasper County Division 3.
10-26-17 Criminal Motion Hearing set for 11-6-17.
11-6-17 Jury trial 4-3-18, pretrial motions 12-12-17.
12-12-17 one public defender withdraws and another one enters on the case, pretrial motions 12-27-17.
12-27-17 bond reduction hearing 1-8-18.
1-8-18 bond reduction denied.
1-16-18 Mr. Spence pled guilty and received 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, Suspended
Execution of Sentence, 5 years probation.
Mr. Spencer's current Parole Officer is Tiffany Bryant and chances are she has no clue about the events reported yesterday on the Joplin Police Department facebook page.
And Mr. Spencer has also had problems in Joplin Municipal Court.  1-9-17 he was charged with Larceny and paid restitution. On 4-27-17 he was charged with Possession of Marijuana and received a Suspended Execution of Sentence.

And last but not least, 2-12-18 he was charged with Domestic Assault, case is ongoing and he has to appear with an attorney in April.

You know there are times when I feel like it wouldn't hurt to have an island somewhere that at some point you could stick a fork in these defendants and send them off to that island to deal with each other.  Oh but wait, that's what they tried to do with Australia.

Tune in next week for more!  Thanks for reading!  Hope you all had a fantastic Valentine's Day!
