The Pinky Promise Scam

Wondering why you see the same people commit crimes on our evening news? Wondering where these people get their money to pay fines and bail out of jail? Well, it's not how you may think...

Through my combing of the docket entries on case.net I keep seeing "Defendant to be assessed for pre-trial services".  This scares the crap out of me. This is essentially a scam to keep jail numbers low. Let me explain why, please bear with me.

Laura & John Arnold have the "Arnold Foundation", and they have developed a Public Safety Assessment algorithm.  Basically they give this to any court that wants to use it -- and the court trust a computer to decide whether or not someone is going to commit another crime if he is released on a pinky promise to come back.  (And somewhere I think I saw where the Arnolds are related to George Soros in some fashion.  If you don't know who Mr. Soros is let me know and I will do an article on him.)

OK, now still bear with me.

Do you remember the serial killer in Tampa FL that was finally caught by the kid who was working at McDonalds and recognized him - calling law enforcement, he got arrested.  That person, Howell Emanuel Donaldson III met all the criteria on the Arnold Foundation Public Safety Assessment algorithm and would have been RELEASED ON HIS OWN RECOGNIZANCE with a pinky promise to appear for his court hearing.

ARE YOU SCARED YET?

The judges in Jasper County who "O.R." someone are not even using that tool, they are simply making a decision in favor of the criminal that he will return for court.

Did Willie Spencer work out? NO.  And the judges also have some defendants assessed for pre-trial services, which leads me to believe that they are using the Arnold Foundation Public Safety Assessment algorithm.  So what would have happened if Howell Emanuel Donaldson III had visited Jasper County and got picked up on a lesser charge, let's say Violating a Protection Order and he was released on his own recognizance??? (I have seen our judges releasing defendants here in Jasper County on that charge with a pinky promise.)  I truly do not believe we would have ever seen him back here for court and there would be no one to go catch him and return him for court (only bail bondsman do that, and not costing us tax money to do it).  And a serial killer would still be on the move.

NOW ARE YOU SCARED?

Demand our Jasper County Judges punish criminals, for their sake and ours! No more pinky promise releases! No more releasing offenders for free onto our streets to victimize again!
