Justice for Jasper County

Sorry I've been gone awhile, had a new grandbaby added to the family and was busy traveling.

Guys -- don't be too hard on Mr. Fleischaker.  He is a defense attorney and his clients present a much better picture to any judge he is in front of when they are out of jail and in street clothes.   Although I do think I struck a nerve.

I got some figures together on the primary election and they are depressing to say the least.  Hopefully I am reading these correctly.  There are 75,617 Republican voters in Jasper County and of that number only 16,147 actually got off their duff and went to the polls.  Now - here are some more figures for you:
-of the 16,147 that voted only 13,163 actually darkened the circle to vote for Judge Crane
-of the 16,147 that voted only 13,259 actually darkened the circle to vote for Judge Mouton
-of the 16,147 that voted only 12,900 actually darkened the circle to vote for Judge Nicholas
-of the 16,147 that voted only 13,193 actually darkened the circle to vote for Judge Hensley
-of the 16,147 that voted only 12,745 actually darkened the circle to vote for Judge Carlton
-of the 16,147 that voted only 12,793 actually darkened the circle to vote for Theresa Kenney as
Prosecuting Attorney
-of the 16,147 that voted only 15,208 actually darkened the circle to vote for Presiding County Commissioner

There are differences of anywhere from 939 to 3,402 voters on those numbers who didn't even waste their time or the ink to darken the circle for these people.  There are so many upstanding attorneys in the 29th Judicial District that would make good judges (and actually care about the victims) but no one is willing to step out there do to the "politics" involved, like if you they didn't win they probably couldn't get a fair decision from the judge they ran against.  Never have been a fan of politics -- especially those surrounding Judge Kavanaugh - confirm him already yet!

I certainly hope that sometime during the next 4 years at least three people will take a leap of faith and run for judge in Division 5, Prosecuting Attorney, and Presiding County Commissioner.  They might be totally shocked at how much support they would get if the current trends continue.

Back The Blue - take care of each other out there, our elected officials certainly are not - Happy Trails.
-Jasper County Jane
